Salamandra was created and has grown as free software, with the goal of providing
radio automation that is accessible and easy to use. And that will continue.
Salamandra PLUS was created as a way to ensure the project can continue evolving sustainably,
offering a set of additional tools for users who want extra features to help organize and manage
their radio station's programming.
The goal of Salamandra PLUS is not to turn Salamandra into a complex system or one
aimed at large radio networks.
The philosophy remains exactly the same as it has always been:
Simple, practical tools that save time in everyday operations.
PLUS features will focus mainly on:
- speeding up routine tasks
- reducing manual work
- improving the organization of radio station workflows
- making daily operations easier
In other words, Salamandra keeps the same spirit, offering tools that make life easier for the people
who use it every day.
If you're new here, we recommend starting with the free version before purchasing
PLUS.
This allows you to become familiar with how the system works, see how it fits into your station's
daily workflow, and decide whether the PLUS features are the right fit for your needs—all at no
cost.
PLUS was designed for users who already use Salamandra and want to speed up their daily workflow.
Taking some time to try the free version first will help you make a more informed and confident
purchase decision.
Salamandra PLUS is available as a perpetual license, including one year of software updates.
Since the beginning of the project, many users have voluntarily supported Salamandra's development
through financial donations.
As a token of our appreciation, everyone who donated by April 8, 2026 (before the
PLUS announcement) will receive a lifetime Salamandra PLUS license.
This is our way of recognizing the support these users have given to the project over the years.
If you are one of these users, please contact us by email (salamandraradioautomation at gmail dot
com) or through the Facebook
inbox on our page.
We want your experience with Salamandra PLUS to be as smooth as possible, so we'd like to clearly
explain what is and isn't included in our support, so you know exactly what to expect.
What's Included?
Support through our official channels: email (salamandraradioautomation at gmail
dot com) and our Facebook group/page for answering specific questions about using the software.
Documentation and learning resources: the software manual and YouTube tutorial
videos covering installation and the main features.
We always do our best to help through these channels whenever needed.
What's NOT Included?
We do not provide remote access, one-on-one support, software installation on the
user's computer, private training sessions, or any other type of personalized assistance.
Our support is intended to answer specific questions about how Salamandra works, not to replace
basic computer knowledge.
Since Salamandra is designed as a self-learning application, we assume users have
basic computer skills, such as installing software, navigating folders and system paths, and knowing
how to back up their own files.
This doesn't mean we're unwilling to help—quite the opposite. We do everything we
can through our available support channels and documentation. However, we do not have the resources
to provide individualized assistance for users who lack these basic computer skills, as doing so
would require a level of personal support that we are unable to offer.
Will Salamandra stop being free?
No.
Salamandra Radio Automation, which is now the official name of Playout, will remain
free, just as it always has been. The existing Playout version will continue to be available without
restrictions.
What changes with Salamandra PLUS?
PLUS adds optional tools for users who want additional features integrated with Salamandra.
Using these tools is entirely optional.
Will I have to pay to keep using Salamandra?
No.
If you use Salamandra simply as a playout system, you can continue using it exactly as before.
Will Salamandra become expensive or complicated?
No.
Salamandra's mission remains the same: to provide a simple and accessible solution.
Salamandra PLUS focuses mainly on improving organization and saving time during daily
operations, while preserving the simplicity of the system.
Why create Salamandra PLUS?
Developing and maintaining software requires time, infrastructure, and ongoing maintenance.
Many users also request features commonly found in commercial software, which usually require
additional development and support.
Salamandra PLUS is a way to make the development of these features sustainable without compromising
the free version.
Do I need to buy PLUS before trying Salamandra?
No. We recommend that new users start with the free version (Playout) to become familiar with the
system before deciding whether to purchase PLUS.
This allows you to confirm whether the additional tools meet your needs and gives you the
opportunity to learn Salamandra at no cost.
What is SpotPlanner?
SpotPlanner is a commercial break planning tool integrated with Salamandra.
It allows you to organize advertising campaigns and automatically generate the commercial breaks that
will be played by Playout.
How long will it take to receive my license?
The license is issued manually by the developer and may take up to 72 business hours
after payment has been confirmed.
Your license will be sent to the email address provided during purchase, so please make sure it is
entered correctly and remember to check your spam folder.
What kind of support is included with Salamandra PLUS?
Support is provided through our official channels—email and our Facebook group—for specific questions
about using the software, in addition to the available documentation, including the user manual and
YouTube tutorials.
We do not provide remote access, one-on-one support, installation, or training. Users are expected to
have basic computer skills.
What happens if I previously donated to the project?
As a thank-you for supporting the development of the software, users who donated before the
announcement of Salamandra PLUS (April 8, 2026) will receive a lifetime Salamandra PLUS
license, including lifetime access to all future updates.
This means those users will permanently have both the right to use Salamandra PLUS and access to
every future version released.
If you previously made a donation, please contact us using one of the methods listed under the
Contact menu so we can verify your contribution.
Can I still make a donation?
No.
We truly appreciate your interest in supporting the project, but the period for voluntary donations
ended on April 30, 2026.
Since then, Salamandra PLUS has been available for purchase at the official price listed on the
product page.
What's the difference between a lifetime license and software updates?
A lifetime license refers to your permanent right to use Salamandra PLUS.
Software updates refer to the period during which you receive new releases.
- Lifetime license + lifetime updates: permanent access to Salamandra PLUS and every future
release.
- Lifetime license + time-limited updates: permanent access to all versions released during your
purchased update period.
Once the update period ends, the software will continue to function normally without any
restrictions.
When will Salamandra PLUS be released?
The release is planned for the second half of July.
More information and details will be announced closer to the release date.
Where can I follow project updates?
News and updates will continue to be published through Salamandra's official channels and on the
project's website.
Is Salamandra a community-driven project?
Salamandra highly values community participation. User ideas, suggestions, and feedback are always
welcome and play an important role in the continuous improvement of the software.
At the same time, Salamandra is an independent project. Development, implementation, maintenance, and
product decisions are all managed by the project's author, who defines priorities, direction, and
technical decisions.
Community feedback is essential for improving the user experience, but it does not constitute
co-authorship or direct participation in the implementation or decision-making process of the
project.
Who develops Salamandra?
Salamandra is an independent project developed by a single developer, Matheus Carolino.
All software development, infrastructure, website maintenance, and project management are handled
directly by the project's author.
In some places, the project may refer to itself using terms such as "we" or "our." This is simply a
communication style adopted to maintain a more professional tone and does not imply the existence of
a team, organization, or collective management behind Salamandra.
Salamandra's official communication channels are exclusively those listed on the website and within
the software. Statements, contacts, or promises made by third parties are not the responsibility of
the developer.
